The Disciples of the Dark One is a Darkside faction of Selkath that broke off from the Order of Shasa to experiment with the Darkside more openly. The faction had its beginnings when they met a heavily cloaked human with a rebreather (Darth Vader). Due to this, they tend to dress in black, or dark clothing just like their “mentor” did.
Before the Order split into two, the Empire invaded Manaan. Vader gave the Order of Shasa detailed information on the Imperial guards and gave them encouragement (possibly through the Force), and instructed them to strike back against the resort that had been built on Manaan during the Imperial Rule. Two hundred of the Order’s finest managed to swim through Ahto’s waste disposal system without effort (a feat that would normally have been quite distressing for a Selkath), and took out the guards with incredible speed, driving them into a retreat. But a strange bloodlust overcame the members of the Order, and they tore into the resort guests, slaughtering them all in a shark-like killing frenzy. When the rage wore off, the Order members were shocked, but the strange Jedi with the dark helmet and deep voice told them that their revenge would make them strong, and now they all served The Emperor.
After Manaan was liberated from the Empire and joined the New Republic, the Order has since went back into hiding returning to the abandoned mining station in the Hrakert Rift where they continue honing their skills in the Force. However, that’s when the Order began to fragment as many members of the Order turned away from the Darkside and began following the old ways of when it was established while others continued to embrace the Darkside and heavily dark cloaked human’s methods of aggression and hatred. Those who continued to embrace the Darkside called themselves the Dark One’s Disciples (in honor of Vader). Few in numbers (but steadily growing) and fearing that members of the Order would turn on them, the Disciples fled to nearby facilities or to the surface to hide in secluded areas of Ahto City.
The Order and Disciples are at odds with each other and a few skirmishes have occurred but neither side has been successful in making a fatal blow to the others’ organization. Each side eagerly waits for an advantage to come their way to tip the scale in their favor…
Practices and Abilities
The Disciples are much like the Order, each adept would be assigned to a master, with the training period being anywhere from months to years.
A sword known as the fira was to the Disciples as the lightsaber was to the Jedi; each was unique, constructed by the trainee of rare materials as part of their training. The materials used in the fira were taken from the old Hrakert Rift station, destroyed by Revan in times past. The raw elements were shaped and tempered using volcanic ocean floor vents, making the experience dangerous as well as challenging. To construct a fira was to be truly inducted into the Disciples. This ritual was known as the Rite of Fira.
The Disciples of the Dark One, maintain their powerful Force-based ability to perceive deception along with the mind-affecting power known as the Progenitor’s Call, which can disrupt their enemies’ actions. Keeping to their ties to the Order, the Disciples are also known for their telekinetic manifestation they called a waveform, which manipulated the particles of the environment to enhance the impact of telekinetic assaults. The Disciples have also added powers from the Darkside to their arsenal as well.
